Finding Nemo' sequel to be titled 'Finding Dory'

Details about Pixar's long-awaited Finding Nemo sequel have been revealed.

The second film will be entitled Finding Dory, and is reportedly set about a year after the events of the first film.

Focusing on Ellen DeGeneres's Dory, the sequel will also see Marlin (Albert Brooks) and Nemo (Alexander Gould) returning, although the latter is likely to be recast given the actor's age.

"I have waited for this day for a long, long, long, long, long, long time," DeGeneres said. "I'm not mad it took this long. I know the people at Pixar were busy creating Toy Story 16. But the time they took was worth it.

"The script is fantastic. And it has everything I loved about the first one - it's got a lot of heart, it's really funny, and the best part is... it's got a lot more Dory."

Writer-director Andrew Stanton will return for Finding Dory, which is written by Victoria Strouse.

Finding Nemo 3D is currently on release in UK cinemas.

Finding Dory will be released in US cinemas on November 25, 2015
