Two men accused of planning to murder Joss Stone have gone on trial.

Junior Bradshaw, 31, and Kevin Liverpool, 34, are alleged to have plotted to murder, burgle and injure the soul singer.

Both men - who are from St Stephens Close, Manchester - deny the charges brought against them.

The pair were arrested in Cullompton, Devon, after being spotted driving near Stone's home in Langford, in June 2011.

The trial at Exeter Crown Court is expected to take up to three weeks to compete.

Stone is not expected to appear at the court herself during the trial proceedings, reportsBBC News.

Back in July 2011, Stone described the situation as "crazy", saying: "There's a lot of crazies in the world. Isn't it weird, I mean what an awful thing to do, but no, it's fine, they are just completely off their trolley.

"It's weird because I live in the middle of nowhere - well, that's why they got lost, totally lost."

Stone was recently involved in a re-recording of The Beatles' first album Please Please Me at Abbey Road Studios, covering the track 'A Taste of Honey'.
