Despicable Me 3, new Grinch movie planned by Universal for 2017

Universal Pictures will release a new How the Grinch Stole Christmas film and Despicable Me 3 in 2017.

The remake of The Grinch will be the latest of its Dr Seuss adaptations, following The Lorax and arriving ahead of its planned Cat in the Hat film.

Pete Candeland will direct the film that will arrive 17 years after Jim Carrey's live action version on November 17, 2017.
Another instalment of the hit Despicable Me franchise will also be released on June 30, 2017, after the spinoff Minions.

Illumination is also working on two more, unannounced projects for 2016, one of which will arrive on December 21.
