Danny O'Donoghue: I'll miss Jessie J on The Voice UK

Danny O'Donoghue has admitted that he will miss having Jessie J as a judge on The Voice when it returns next year.

The Script frontman, who has previously said he will be back for a second series, all but confirmed rumours that Jessie will not be returning to the show - but added in an interview with The People that it had nothing to do with her alleged 'diva' behaviour on the first series.

"She wasn't a diva at all," he said. "I have never seen her throw tantrums.

"Jessie is incredibly articulate and she's headstrong. That sometimes can be misconstrued as being too arrogant. But she’s a brilliant role model for young women."

"I'm really sad she’s not coming back," he added. "We have a great friendship."

Both Danny and Will.i.am appear keen to return to the show next year, although Tom Jones has yet to say whether he will be back.

Meanwhile Danny also denied rumours that he and contestant Bo Bruce, whom he mentored on the show, were an item - although he did admit to having a new girlfriend.

"Everybody kind of bought into it but no, there’s nothing behind it," he said. "I'm back in touch with a girl I was seeing before I was in The Script. We've been texting. Watch this space."
