David Bowie earns first No.1 album in 20 years with 'The Next Day'

David Bowie has scored his first UK number one album in 20 years with The Next Day.

The rock icon landed at the top of the chart with his first studio LP since 2003's Reality, and his first chart-topper since 1993's Black Tie White Noise.

It shifted over 94,000 copies to become the fastest-selling album of the year so far.

Bon Jovi settle for number two with their latest album What About Now, having been outsold by more than two copies to one. Their Greatest Hits collection also climbs 26 places to 31.

Emeli Sandé falls just one place to three with Our Version of Events, while Bastille drop three spots to four with Bad Blood. Bruno Mars falls one to complete the top five with Unorthodox Jukebox.

Hurts land at nine with their second studio album Exile.
